About the event
In recognition of Asia Art Week, an annual celebration of Asian Art in NYC, we will be presenting a special concert Knots in Time by noted violinist Johnna Wu, accompanied by Simon Kanzler on electronics. The musical program was specially chosen to resonate with our current exhibition Beijing Stories, which pairs the intimate bronze and ceramic sculptures of Liu Shiming with the large-scale photographs of contemporary American photographer Lois Conner.
With a program of works by contemporary composers Liza Lim, Chikage Imai, Yifan Guo, Zosha Di Castri, Simon Kanzler, and Bahar Royaee as well as sonata by J.S. Bach, Knots in Time meditates on weaving together ideas of time, temporality, transience and continuity.
Seating is limited, RSVP required
